Luxuries
Something that sets Family Outings aside from the rest is their on boards drink service. You really get that 'small businesses go the extra mile' feeling when boarding with Family Outings. With hot and cold drinks available (and at affordable prices might I add) you can be sure of a comfortable travelling experience. We ordered two coffees and two hot chocolates (with all the trimmings), and still came away with change from a tenner!

ENTERTAINMENT
Keeping the kids entertained is always a worry when traveling as a family. I've got to say it's probably highest on the worry list for me! Thankfully Family Outings have got you covered when you travel with them from Teesside. When boarding, the children were given a specially branded Family Outings activity pack which is full of colouring pages, crosswords and word searches. I really enjoyed how the puzzles were tailored to Family Outings and the trips that they provide. A lot of the answers referenced excursions they provide such asΒ Edinburgh Zoo,Β Chessington World of AdventuresΒ andΒ Flamingo Land. There's also a screen at the front of the bus which plays movies throughout our travel. As this was a short journey from Middlesbrough to Newcastle, we ditched movies in favour of Dinesy music!

Disney On Ice: Our Perfect Day Out With Family Outings
The Journey From Middlesbrough
Our day began just before lunch, where we were picked up by Family Outings, just outside the BBC Tees building, near Middlesbrough Bus Station. From the moment we stepped on board, the trip felt relaxed exciting and relaxed. The coach was clean, comfortable and warm, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. You can't beat Northerners!
The journey to Newcastle flew by! Smooth driving and plenty of chatter from excited kids made the trip feel super quick. And it was a huge relief not having to worry about parking or navigating busy city traffic! I've been driving for quite some time now, but city centre driving is something I always worry about.

A Day Packed With Disney Magic
As soon as we arrived at the Utilita Arena, the buzz of Disney excitement was impossible to miss. Doors opened at 1.30pm and whilst there was a queue to get in, we managed to get through the doors pretty quickly. We weren't able to take our seats straight away so we hung around in the lobby area to begin with. This was of course packed full to the rafters with Disney merchandise. Something we surprisingly escaped from buying, even with our two little Disney fanatics.
Disney on Ice absolutely delivered on the magic! From the moment the lights dimmed to the final bow, the excitement was real! Even as an adult! The skatersβ talent was breathtaking (I literally have no idea how they do it), and the choreography had everyone mesmerised. Familiar characters like Mickey and Minnie appeared throughout the show, and the crowd especially loved the addition of a very cheeky Stitch who unsurprisingly kept causing chaos on the rink! There were big numbers from Frozen, Moana, Encanto, Rapunzel and more. Quite frankly, it was two hours of pure magic!
The show was colourful, energetic, and we literally couldn't keep our eyes off the ice rink! It was brilliant from start to finish and we couldn't have had a better time with Family Outings.

Disney Merchandise
If youβre planning a visit, itβs worth knowing that the merchandise stores stand loud and proud, making it hard for kids to resist. They hit you as soon as you walk into the arena. There were glowing wands, themed cups, plush toys, and beautifully themed programme books. Prices were expensive, as expected for a Disney production, but the items felt special and well made. Many families picked souvenirs to mark their special day!
Food And Drink Options At The Utilita Arena
Inside the arena, there were plenty of food and drink options, ranging from quick snacks to more filling choices. Expect the usual arena pricing, but the queues were well-managed and moved quickly.
There are also vendors walking around offering popcorn, candy floss and ice drinks, perfect for kids who get peckish mid-show.
Timings
The show ran for around two hours, including a short interval that gave everyone a chance to stretch their legs and grab refreshments. In my opinion, the pacing of the show was ideal for little ones! No long waits, no dragging scenes, just a smooth and engaging flow that kept the energy high throughout.
Family Outings provided clear timings for arrival and departure, making it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy the experience without clock watching.
